In each class flexibility, endurance, speed, power, focus, coordination, leaping abilities, mental and spiritual strength are taught and learned.
Take your first class on us to check out who we are and see if you would enjoy Wushu. We have two locations with teachers working all week long to accommodate your schedule. If you are visiting from out of town our easy pay per class is a quick way to stay up with your stretch kicks. Or, if you are vacationing we can help you schedule private lessons around your Disneyland or Universal City play dates.
Our classes may not be a walk in the park. If your interest in working out lies on the “working” part you’ll fit right in with our aggressive and motivated students Be sure you bring proper Wushu or workout shoes, no black soles on the carpets and no bare feet. We have our own proshop where students can purchase new shoes, uniforms, weapons, and gear. NWTC prides it’s students and coaching staff for practicing and learning the highest quality of Wushu and Taijiquan.
We request that three simple rules are followed without exception.
•Follow the dress code
•Show respect to coaches and classmates
•Follow the NWTC curriculum
To follow the curriculum means you understand that each step is important in learning Wushu and not jumping from subject to subject ensures your safety, highest quality, and your complete education. Our new incoming students start at the beginning. For those whose experience in Wushu matches NWTC’s understanding of basic foundation and correctness, you will be placed in the appropriate class level. NWTC prohibits learning from other students, our staff is happy to accommodate your questions and movements.
Classes
Wushu
NWTC is dedicated to bringing out the champion in the mind, body, and spirit of each Student!
The National Wushu Training Center’s primary objective is to teach and promote top-quality Wushu within the United States. To achieve this goal, NWTC provides it’s students with:
A safe and comfortable training atmosphere
A world-class coaching staff
A scientifically standardized training curriculum
Training Facility:
NWTC boasts two locations, one of which is the largest Wushu training facilities in the country. Both are equipped with official Chinese competition carpet to insure safety and to acclimate the students to a competition-level environment.
Weapons
Upon learning the empty hand level five curriculum standard and by recommendation from your coach a student may begin weapon training. NWTC offers expert instruction in all four compulsory weapons: saber, staff, straight sword, and spear as well as all categories of competition traditional weapons.
Each compulsory weapon possesses it’s own standardized curriculum spanning the introductory, beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels. Once a student has reached the advanced level, he or she is ready to learn the old international compulsory routines, new international compulsories, and finally optional routines.
After mastering the compulsories, students can then choose to learn traditional weapons such as 3-section staff, double saber, double dagger, double straight sword, quandao, pudao, 9-section whip, or rope dart.

Their assistants and apprentices have been intensively trained in Wushu, specifically in the internationally standardized NWTC curriculum. Both locations are maintained by full-time staff who can answer questions or offer assistance when necessary.
Curriculum:
NWTC is renowned for it’s strict fundamental training. This is what leads to high quality movements, artistic presentation, and the ability to execute difficulties without sacrificing the combative and aesthetic integrity of Wushu. For this reason, NWTC implements an exceptional 4-year curriculum which carefully and systematically advances each student from basic to advanced levels. From first year basics to aerial techniques to international compulsory routines, this curriculum gives each student the opportunity to learn all the necessary techniques to become a well-rounded Wushu athlete.
